Lardos is a vibrant village where life is still centered around the village square that has a natural spring water fountain; a legacy left by the Italians who occupied and rebuilt much of Rhodes after the 2nd world war.
Lardos is surrounded by green landscape and even though, just a small village, is well organised and has much to offer to both its residents and visitors.
The nearby beach of Glystra is a small beach with crystal clear waters and fine sand. It is well organised, although quiet beach and its shallow waters make it great for children.
The monastery of Our Lady Ipseni is of great importance to the village. Its history began before 1800 and there are documented reports dating back to this time from believers who have witnessed miracles by Our Lady.
Lardos is also an area of archaeological interest. Here there are the remains of the Byzantine castle of Lardos and the female Monastery of Virgin Mary.
