It is generally a very safe place and the level of crime is quite low. Greece has one of the lowest life costs in the European Union, although cities like Athens are generally more expensive than the rest of the country.

The North part of Athens is in great demand by families looking for properties for rent  because it is home to many foreign schools. The most popular choice is Kifissia, full of shops and restaurants. Here properties for rent are very beautiful and luxurious.

Near Kifissia we find Maroussi, a green area and home to many international and Greek companies.

If you are looking for properties for rent at more affordable prices, a little further from the central areas are Ekali, Dionysos and Drossia. Here the most numerous type of property  for rent is that of very large houses with more affordable prices.

In the southern part of Athens, the neighbourhoods that have the most requests for properties for rent are Glufada and Voula. The properties for rent here are almost all newly built, in excellent condition and close to the sea. These locations are also chosen for the intense nightlife.

The centre of Athens is more noisy and chaotic but full of life and charm and the neighbourhoods where the best  properties for rent are located are Kolonaki, Hilton, Pangrati, Mets and Pigilis. Here properties for rent are not new, but characteristic and close to historical monuments.
